Let the weak say, “I am strong,” I accept the confession not because you think I’m down or weak, That’s who I am. I am strong not as a man at the war front, but a creature in God’s nature. The energy I emit is not measured in watt, volt, kilovolt or what so every parameter, you can think of. It is measured in grace. Though I walk through the valley and shadow of death, I fear no evil. I fought my mind so many times, and I got defeated. The fight between the mind and yourself is something to be won, some are complex and complicated, others are on life ways. Even when I tried to embrace death, God’s grace became my case. When my efficacy was insufficient in all, God’s grace was sufficient in all. I’ve always wanted to know how life works, I experienced; Joy, Pains, Sad times, and happy moments that I thought would last forever. As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” The man was amazed. With joy we accepted admission given to us so many years ago, not knowing what we were to face something worst than academic fun and certificate acquisition. Nigerian universities are ACADEMIC JAIL where you are kept in for improper treatment by both non academic and academic staff. Education is fun but schooling is difficult in Nigeria and can also be frustrating and difficult. Welcome to Nigeria where a lecturer will have full-fun in extending the stay of a bright student for about 8 non recoverable years just for no good reason, just because he doesn’t like your face or he feels you know more than him. 90% Lectures see students like slave and it means nothing to them even if the students are crying blood ..(what a creature). In a class a lecturer will open his or her mouth and say even if I teach or not, at the end of the month I will receive my salary and such are been employed monthly. Pains came within, regrets in my head because I found out that Time wasted cannot be regained. It was like the whole world was after me, but the truth is that my mind was hunting me. To many, success seems to come suddenly. When you observe others and what they have achieved you usually don’t appreciate what it has taken for them to get where they are. Ultimately, in failing to do this you also fail to learn what it would take for you to attain the same level of achievement and success. But, if you take the time to truly think about it, you will find that success is usually only a small step away. Yet despite that it eludes most people. It is always so near and yet so far. Let me illustrate what I mean with a short story. A lesson from military school As part of our military training in the air force we were given a very demanding assignment. I remember when I was at Ridgeway campus. If my friends needed music for a party or just to listen to something, they would often come to me. I had a great collection. Over the years I managed to pack my computer, which had a storage capacity of 10 gigabytes at the time, with over 7 gigabytes of music. That was over 2000 songs or 7000 minutes of listening time. You could put the player on shuffle and listen to music for 5 days, 24 hours a day without ever having to hear the same song twice. THE WALK I think it all started when I was 18 years old and in my first year at campus. That was about the time that I started to observe people’s behaviour and just to think about life. I was taking a walk with two friends and was in deep thought. They were chatting, but I was not paying attention to what they were saying. Then suddenly I said “You know guys; I am pretty disappointed with the adult world.” One of them asked me why and I explained that when I was going to campus I expected a lot of change and difference in the behaviour of the people around me. Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!” He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant.
